My children’s experience at Strong Wings can be described in one word: Childhood. The adventures, the life lessons, the mud and dirt, the campouts, the knowledge of Nantucket Island that goes beyond any map or tour guide, the relationships with counselors and campers, the sense of independence and adventure, the sling shot, the beaches and secret spots, the sense of self and self-reliance developed and nourished, the longing for camp throughout the year and the bond that they have to this place; it is all a part of their being and their person. This is part of their self-made family and part of their hearts that will grow but never go away and because of that, SW will always hold a special place in my heart too.
